East and Central Asia and includes Tibet.
Bounded by Mongolia, Russia, East China,
South China, and the Yellow Sea,
North Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar
(Burma), Bhutan, Nepal, India,
Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Kazakhstan.
The third-largest country in the world.
Well developed, major super power.
The official language is Mandarin.
Written history goes back
over 5000 years.
Some of the major points of interest are the culture,
The Great Wall of China and the Peking Man's Caves.
The Chinese used printing, gun powder, compass,
porcelain, paper, silkworm farming and silk
manufacturing before they were invented or
used in Europe.
Capital is Beijing.
Population: 1,329,349,388 (2007)

China, big, beautiful China.
Could spend years there, still
wouldn't see half of it.
Hui Chin, Endre and I visited China in
1997 and it was a real cultural eye opener for us.
Truck loads of history, some five
thousand years or so in fact, give or take
a few hundred years.
We've enjoyed our stay very much.
Hui Chin and I visited China a couple of times
again during 2007.
This time we've visited many new places and revisited some of
the places we've been before.
A great place to spend your holidays in.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay, excepting the
food, that didn't really please my palette.
Some day we may come back again, the Chinese girls
seem to fancy me, bless their beautiful hearts.
