Berchtesgaden, Eagle's Nest & Obersalzburg are similar pages, I only listed them for the convenience of people looking for them.

My daughter, Sarolta and I visited most of the larger cities and many other places in the than West Germany and East Berlin during 1978.

We spent nearly four months travelling around Europe, using our Britrail, Eurail Passes, cars and other rail services not included in those passes, like in Hungary, Romania and the then Czechoslovakia.

During our 1998 trip we had some time to visit Frankfurt on our way back to Singapore and New Zealand.

In 2000, while traveling around in Austria, Hui Chin and I visited Germany a few times again.

We nipped over to see Berchtesgaden or the Eagles' nest or Obersalzburg as it is also known on a conducted tour from Salzburg.

After exploring Innsbruck we went to see Oberammergau, during March and April 2000.

We visited Germany again in 2003, when we took advantage of our Eurail Pass and visited many famous and not so famous cities, many in the former East Germany, like Berlin (Eastern side as well), Potsdam, Magdeburg, Leipzig and Dresden.

In 2005 Hui Chin and I visited our relations in Singapore and Hungary.
After some correspondence with the Transrapid (Maglev) office in Lathen, we found out that we could have a test run.
In a mad dash we rushed from Budapest to Lathen.
After admiring and riding on the Transrapid, we slooooowly made our way back to Budapest, taking a few detours to check some interesting places out on the way, like, Münster, Dortmund, Wuppertal, Essen, Möchengladbach, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Koblenz, - and many other very interesting places in Germany.

During 2006 on our way to Hungary to celebrate the 1956 Hungarian Revolution's 50th Anniversary we visited another few German cities, you will find some photos on my pages of Germany.
