Australia is an island country and continent
including Tasmania, the Great Barrier Reef and
numerous other islands in the Southern Hemisphere.
Surrounded by the Banda Sea, Torres Straight, Coral Sea,
Pacific Ocean, Tasman Sea, Southern Ocean, Indian Ocean
and the Timor Sea.
Australia has a varied but mainly dry climate and
large parts of the continent are deserts and
many of the cultivated plains are periodically
devastated by drought.
Enjoys stable, democratic governments.
The Federal capital is Canberra.
Australia covers an area of 7,682,300 km2.
English is the official language.
Population is around 18 million.

In 1987 I went to Australia and explored
it from head to toe.
My pages will show some of the ususal
and unusual sights my camera
managed to catch.
Some of my photos were lost by
the processors, like Kununurra,
Broome, Carnarvon, Geraldton
and Launceston.
All this photos had to be scanned, sorry.
No worries, as the Aussies say. Huh?
