Mali facts & history in
brief
Trains of Mali.
I was told there are no railways in Mali.
After retiring in our hotel room in Bamako,
I heard a train whistle and moving train
noises late at night.
Early next morning we were leaving for Tombouctou,
but on our return I went to investigate.
I asked a few people about the whereabouts of
the Railway station during our walk in Downtown
Bamako and very soon we were
walking around the station.
There is a Station, there are trains,
that run to Senegal.
It is hard to find out much more as like any
public buildings and services are under strict security,
photos are discouraged and information are
only given on a need to know basis and a
railway buff such as me doesn't need to
know, I was told.
