Greece

It has land boundaries with Bulgaria, the F.Y. Republic of Macedonia, and Albania to the north; and with Turkey to the east.

Regarded by many as the cradle of Western civilization and the birthplace of democracy, Greece has a long and rich history during which its culture has proven especially influential in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.

My daughter, Sarolta and I visited Greece during our 1978 trip around Europe.

We had a three months Eurail Pass, plus a Britrail Pass and we also spent some time in Hungary and Romania, countries that were not part of the Eurail system at that time.

We took a ferry (The ferry trip was part of the Eurail Pass, as was many other ferries etc) from Brindisi in Italy to Patra in Greece.

After exploring Patra, we travelled by train right across Greece to to Istanbul in Turkey and checking out some of the places on our way, like Athens and others.

In 2005 Hui Chin and I spent a few weeks to thoroughly examine Greece, some of the Greek islands and Cyprus.

I am happy to report that everything checked out to our satisfaction.

The craddle of our civilisation, etc, etc.
