Rabbah
referred in the Bible as
the City or Moab.
It was important
place in the war of the
Israelites and King Mesha.
Later the conquering Greeks
renamed it Aeropolis.
It was an important station
during the Kingdom of Israel,
Greek, Roman and Byzantine times.
Recently some parts of
the city were excavated.
