 Jordan facts & history in 
brief
 
 Ajlun is about 65 km north of Amman 
and 10 km east of Yerash. A 12th C. Arab castle and 
fortification against the Crusaders.
 It is built on 1200m high mountain 
with breathtaking views of the Jordan Valley.
 In 1260 was destroyed by the Mongols,
 but rebuilt soon by the Mameluks,
 who doubled the walls and built another 
fortification outside of it.
 Ajlun also have an old Mosque,that was 
built in the Middle Ages over a Catholic church.
