Indonesia
Indonesia facts and
history in brief
Bali is one of the many Indonesian islands about
14 km long and about 80 km wide, with a population of
nearly 3 million.
High volcanic mountains are in the north and large fertile
plain in the south.
The nearest islands are Java to the east and Lombok
to the south-east.
Very popular tourist resort and rich in tradition, culture
and very able artisians.
After many battles the Dutch took over the island early
the 20th century and became part of Indonesia after
WWII.
The capital is Denpasar
We found Bali, the original tourist destination.
Full of interesting sights and things to do.
Have a very interesting history too.
We enjoyed our stay.
