Slovakia a central European republic, formerly part of Czechoslovakia.
Occupies an area of 49,035 sq km and is bounded by Poland, Ukraine,
Hungary, Austria and the Czech Republic and dominated by the Carpathian
mountains, with the the Gerlach Shield at a height of 2,655 m.

Ruzomberok (Rózsahegy in Hungarian) is
the lower Liptov region's
administration and economic centre
with the
population of about 30,000 on
the left bank of the Váh river.
The city lies at the cross roads
of ancient trading routes.
An important paper manufacturing centre.
The city has many churches, buildings
and monuments to admire.
Hui Chin and I had a
good look around, the main square,
the main streets and side streets,
in fact the whole township and sorrounds,
as some of the other cities.
