facts and history in brief
Ozdany (Osgyán in Hungarian) is
a small village with a
castle from the early 14th C.
The castle was burnt down in 1604 by the
imperial army.
In the mid 17th C. a Renaissance manor house was built from the ruins.
The manor house was rebuilt in Baroque-Classicist style in the 18th
C.
Ozdany had a well known Latin Lyceé, with many
famous people attending it.
There are a couple of churches and
yeoman curia, that worth looking at.
Hui Chin and I had a
good look around.
