Hollywood, the film capital of the world, California,
U.S. a district of Los Angeles. In the late 1800s the area was a farming region.
It was incorporated as Hollywood in 1903,and voted to
join the city of Los Angeles in 1910, to gain access
to the Los Angeles water supply.
It became a centre of the film industry because the

In 1911, the Nestor Company built one of the first film

the late 1920's and resulted in the building of huge
sound stages, many now used for making television films.
There are many restaurants, gift shops, theatrical agencies,
and nightclubs - some more famous than others.
Also have to mention Hollywood Boulevard with its popular

the footpaths, Sunset Boulevard called 'The Strip' immortalised
in many movies and TV series.
The Hollywood Bowl, a large open-air theatre, is famous
for its symphony programmes, concerts and games.

was restored in 1978.
Each letter of the sign is 14 metres tall.
The population of Hollywood is about 300,000 people.

We, Hui Chin and I walked "down" and "up"
and vice-versa, Hollywood Boulevard soon after our arrival
in Los Angeles.
Well next morning , anyway, admiring the scenery.

We returned practically everyday, there was something
new to see all the time.
 Like Country Pumpkins, we were.

One hell of a good show!
