South Island
New Zealand facts & history in brief

Pukeraku
is an one horse town, well
I don't even know, whether they
own a horse.
It is 'roadside' craft centre and
'tea-rooms' cum souvenir shop.
Like many old South or North
Island settlements, their 'heyday'
passed and the people drifted
away to urban centres with more
job and other opportunities.
Their roadside display did
catch my attention though.
