Fox Glacier
is part of the Westland National Park
and it is a 14 km long moving ice from Glacier
(3007 m) and Douglas Peak (3085 m).
A township and tourist resort by the same
name is serving visitors to the glacier.
The glacier is named after a former
premier Sir William Fox.
Nearby is the spectacular Lake Matheson,
well known for the mirroring the
reflections of Mount Cook and Mount
Tasman, and Franz Josef Glacier.
