Another place where my family was made to live by the communists for a while. Although it is nearly 10 km from Balassagyarmat, many a times we had to walk there, because the only way to get there was the railway or walking in those days, because there wasn't any private cars or bus services in those old days, and also our lack of funds to afford them. There was one other way, if you were a 'well to do' farmer and you had your own horse and cart or both. A few well to do families lived here before WWII, but their 'Castles' are not maintained, accepting the 'The Twin Castles", as they are serving now as schools. My father had to make the ground and first floor habitable for us. You can see the dilapidated state of my brother-in-law's 'Castle'.
