Hungary, facts and history in brief Budapest, facts and history in brief LudasHungaryLudas is a medium sized village on the Budapest to Miskolc main trunk railway line.
Another one of those places the communist made my family to live for a few years. The communists forced my family to shift from place to place every few months. We lived in the 'Castle', as it was locally called, but the word Mansion probably would describe it better. Later, the 'Castle' was partly demolished and used for storage and stables, on orders of a 'brain-dead' communist party official/s. Now days many old 'Castles' or 'Mansions' are restored and used for museums, hotels or as a tourist attraction to the benefit of the local community. A real shame, the place was very nice with beautiful frescos and murals painted on the walls and ceilings.
