Hungary, facts and history in brief Budapest, facts and history in brief KomáromHungaryKomárom - the Hungarian part - is a beautiful city, on the southern part of the Danube river. In the early twenties Komárom lost a bigger part of the city (It was a Hungarian city or settlement for a thousand to Czechoslovakia. The only sin of Komárom was that the larger part was on the wrong (northern) side of the Danube river. In 2000 we only visited the Hungarian Komárom. In 2003, while driving around in Slovakia, we visited both Komárom and Komarno (Slovakia. As a matter of fact, we crossed the border here.
