The 33° C. hot 3.5 ha lake is about 110 m above sea level. The lake bottom is covered with thick mud, and world renown for being beneficial for arthritis, rheumatism, gout, skin, bone, muscle and many other ailments. Most of Héviz residents - under 20,000, depends on or associated by spas, baths and hotels servicing the many visitors.
I was impressed with bright blue coloured, modern Catholic Church facing the main street on top of the hill in the middle of the town.
