Hungary, facts and history in brief Budapest, facts and history in brief GyulaHungaryGyula is in the southeast part of Hungary, on the Fehér (White) Körös River near the Romanian border. The township is an agricultural and commercial centre for the sorrounding district. Gyula has a fine castle and a fortress from the 14thC. Ferenc Erkel, the famous Hungarian composer of the Hungarian National Anthem, was born here. Estimated population is around 40,000. Hui Chin and I enjoyed our stay here very much. A very nice little town. 2000
