BodenSweden Boden Municipality (Finn: Puuti) is a Swedish municipality in Norrbotten County, in northern Sweden. Its seat is in the town Boden, with 20,000 inhabitants at a height of 14 meters. The closest large city is Luleå, which is located some 30 kilometers south-east by the shore. Luleå is the largest city in Norrbotten County, with some 45,000 inhabitants. It also has a large hospital and is the main campus of the Luleå University of Technology. Furthmore, the Luleå University also has the health science campus centred in Boden. The northern main line railway, Norra Stambanan, has its final destination in Boden. A branch the continues to Luleå, offering reliable transportations there. Sarolta, my daughter and I visited Sweden in 1978, when we took time out and visited a few countries in Europe including the Scandinavian countries with our Eurail Pass. Boden was a nice place to explore. Many of my pictures of Boden are slides, which was a rage in those days and I'll have to scan them as soon as possible.
