Malta, Southern Europe
Malta facts and history in brief
Mosta is famous for its massive church,
round church, the Mosta Dom, which has one of the largest
unsupported domes in the world, with a
diameter of 40m.
The church was designed by Maltese architect
Giorgio Grognet de Vassé whose plan was
closely based on the Pantheon in Rome.
The church was bombed during WWII. A bomb went through
the dome and failed to explode. Today there is a
replica bomb in the church on display.
Mosta is very nice place.
