Malta, Southern Europe
Malta facts and history in brief
Grand Harbour is south-west of Valletta and the main
the main port of Malta.
A cruise down the harbour and the many creeks off the harbour offers
the best view of the Valletta fortifications, the Mediterranean and
Mediaeval buildings lining the Grand Harbour and the many creeks flowing
into it.
There are usually a large number of cruise liners, and military ships
anchored in the harbour.
In 2001 Hui Chin and I spent some time on the Maltese
islands.
By bus we traveled all over the islands, including taking the ferry
to Gozo and some of the smaller islands.
We also went on a sightseeing boat trip from Sliema Quay, around Valletta
and all the bays of Marsamxett and the Grand Harbours.
With frequent bus services and with some walking we managed to see just
about everything.
