France facts and history in brief
Lyon's history goes back over 2000 years -
to Roman times - and it
is France's third largest city.
The city has a charming old quarter and is an important
business, cultural and gastronomical centre in one France's
more prosperous region.
Lyon has a very large number of restaurants and cafes
and a very lively night and cultural life,
including the famous Lyonnais puppets.
Population nearly 500,000.
We, Hui Chin and I had a limited time to
look around.
Took a two hour plus conducted tour of the city,
some walking around and shopping of course,
Before we were on our way to Marseilles.
Fancied the city's funny looking trams.
