The most important sights in the township are
the originally Gothic parish church of St. Ulrich, that
was later remodeled in Baroque style, the high altar
paintings date from 1721, the Trinity obelisk, erected
in 1713, in the town centre, and the 13th century castle
that had a moat around it, it was rebuilt and two tower
were added in the 17th century and was rebuilt again
in the 18th century with French gardens.
In 2005, during our European travels, Hui Chin and
I had a few hours to wait for our train connection to
Eisenstadt, so we spent some time looking around this
lovely little town.
It was on a Sunday and there wasn't much of an activity
going around, probably why the trains were few and far
in between.
In 1956, after our Revolution had been brutally crushed
by the Soviet Armies, I had managed to escape from Hungary
to Lutzmansburg and spent some memorable time at Eisenstadt,
our destination at this time.
